⚖️ Important Legal Disclaimer: Mask Mate is a privacy protection and screenshot redaction utility designed to obscure sensitive personal data during screen recordings and video presentations. End users are solely responsible for ensuring their use complies with local laws and regulations.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Mask Mate browser extension or associated software services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the extension.

2. Intended Use & Privacy Protection

Mask Mate is intended exclusively for legitimate privacy protection, NDA compliance, educational tutorials, UX testing, and screen recording preparation. The extension enables users to locally blur, blackout, or substitute text (spoof) on their own web browser displays to prevent accidental exposure of private data (such as bank balances, credit card numbers, email addresses, or client names).

3. Prohibited Activities & Non-Misuse Clause

You explicitly agree NOT to use Mask Mate for any unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

Creating fake financial statements, invoices, receipts, or legal documents to defraud individuals, financial institutions, investors, or government entities.
Engaging in identity theft, deceptive marketing, or impersonation.
Falsifying records to violate third-party Terms of Service or contract agreements.
Attempting to bypass authentication mechanisms or security systems.

4. Privacy & Data Collection Policy (100% On-Device)

We respect your privacy. Mask Mate is built with a zero-telemetry architecture:

No Data Transmitted: Mask Mate runs 100% locally inside your web browser. No webpage content, DOM elements, screenshots, or user keystrokes are ever sent to external servers.
No Tracking: We do not track browsing history, analytics, IP addresses, or personal identifiers.
Local Storage Only: Extension preferences and license keys are stored strictly on your local browser device via chrome.storage.local.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

MASK MATE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPERS AND DISTRIBUTORS OF MASK MATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, OR FOR ANY MISUSE COMMITTED BY END USERS.

6. Intellectual Property & Licenses

All rights, title, and interest in and to Mask Mate (including code, design, logos, and documentation) remain the exclusive property of the developer. AppSumo lifetime deals and commercial licenses grant a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the software according to the purchased tier.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the extension following any updates constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
